Summertime is ending, which means a return to cooler weather. Now is an ideal time to get back outside and experience all that nature has to offer. Fishing is one of our favorite outdoor activities because you can enjoy it alone or with friends. Here are three noteworthy fishing spots near our senior apartments in Spring, Texas:
Burroughs Park
Located in nearby Tomball, Burroughs Park has a seven-acre fishing lake and over eight miles of hiking trails. The park also includes other amenities such as soccer fields, a barbecue pavilion, and wheelchair-accessible playgrounds. If you ever feel overwhelmed, walk in the dense woods for some quiet time.
Rob Fleming Park
Rob Fleming Park is a local favorite in the Woodlands area. The grounds are home to Bo Fleming Pond, a peaceful fishing place. The park has drinking fountains, a BBQ pit, picnic tables, and pavilions/gazebos. Best of all, the park is dog-friendly.
Bedias Lake
Situated in the George Mitchell Preserve, Bedias Lake Loop consists of a simple 1.6-mile loop trail leading to the lake. Bedias Lake is an oxbow, a portion of the main channel of Spring Creek, which was abandoned when the streambed moved further south. This site is famous for fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and bird watching. Dogs are allowed, but they must be on a leash.
When you live at Augusta Woods, there are plenty of fun things to do. After you've caught more fish than you can carry, visit an escape room with your loved ones. Lastly, contact us today if you would like to call our thriving senior community home.
