Try These Unique Barbecue Recipes at Augusta Woods

Warm weather has arrived here in Texas, and that means firing up the grill for some fun with friends and family. It's time to get together in our active senior apartments in Spring, Texas and share some good food. It's easy to fall back on old tried and true barbecue recipes, and there's nothing wrong with some burgers and ribs, but sometimes you’re craving something a little different. Here are three unique barbecue recipes to try at your next get-together.

  1. Beef and Red Pepper Burgers

Burgers are a staple at any Texas barbecue, and this is a recipe that gives your burger an extra dose of flavor. These are no boring run-of-the-mill burgers at just any old barbecue. The added peppers add some powerful flavor, while the carrots give it a natural sweetness that is sure to make your taste buds sing. The added nutrition from the vegetables is a good thing, too. You can modify this recipe, too: try roasted red peppers, or add jalapeños for some kick.

  1. Roasted Garlic and Grilled Baby New Potato Salad

The grill isn’t just for meat -- you can grill up a delicious side dish, too. This one needs just a little prep beforehand. You'll have to roast the garlic the day before, but that flavor is what makes this dish so wonderful. The smokiness of the grill adds a layer to the potatoes — and to the salad in general — that you don't want to miss. Pair this salad with any grilled entrée for a meal that is sure to get rave reviews.

  1. Grilled Peach and Buffalo Mozzarella Salad

If you haven't had grilled peaches, then you need to make this at your next get-together. Peaches are the quintessential summer fruit, and they are perfect for the grill. They become smoky-sweet and juicy, which is the perfect pairing for a creamy buffalo mozzarella. Add some grilled steak or chicken to transform this dish into an entrée.

You can do so much with a grill, so let your imagination run wild with these exciting BBQ recipes that you can enjoy with friends.
